Customize TM settings

Go to Localization settings → Translation memory, click on a TM database and switch to the TM Settings tab:

• Auto ingest new translation text: When enabled, source and target strings are automatically added to the TM database every time you update or import them. Turn this off if your translations aren’t ready to be stored in TM, and update it manually instead.
• Activate TM: Controls whether TM matches are displayed or automatically inserted while translating. The TM database is still updated regardless of whether the TM is active or inactive
• TM fuzzy match setting: Determines how similar source strings in Grids/Tasks must be to TM entries before the system considers them a “match.”
  • Exact match: 100% identical
  • Near exact: Nearly identical, ignoring case, whitespace, numbers, and special characters.
    Example: hello world! matches Hello-World!!!, but Hello does not.
  • Fuzzy match: 50%–99% similar. Partial word matches between two sources are considered a match.
• Translation status for target cell: Apply this Dependencies status to the target strings when TM terms are added.
• Allow alternative translation in TM: Store multiple translations for the same source string in TM automatically for reference.
  One translation is marked as the default and will be used for auto-population, QA checks, and calculations.

Update TM matches

Add TM matches one by one

• While translating: By default, any new updates to target cells will also update the TM matches in the database. If you allow alternative translations in TM, you can add them while translating: double-click the target cell and select the option.

• In the TM editor: Open the TM editor in Localization settings, select the language pairs, and click Add new Translation Unit. Refer to Translation Memory (TM) Editor.

Bulk add TM matches

• By importing your own TM: Import your translation memory if you already have one. Supported file types: TMX, CSV, and XLSX.

• Using data in a Grid/Task: In the toolbar, under Localization import, select Synchronize TM, then go to the Update current TM tab. This will push translations from the current Grid to the assigned TM. 

Edit TM matches

In extended view (CMS)

1. Right-click on a target language cell and select Open Extended view from the context menu.
2. In the Extended View panel, locate the TM entry you want to work with.
3. Hover over the TM entry. Use the icon to modify the entry and the icon to remove it permanently.

When working TM is enabled, you may see multiple TM entries for the same translation in the Extended View. In that case, you can only edit and delete entries from the working TM (indicated by theicon). The master TM (indicated by theicon) entries will be read-only and cannot be modified.

 

 

 

Search for TM

Search TM terms across all TM databases

• Go to Localization settings → Translation Memory, then click the search bar to find a TM or TM entries. 

  

• Enter search keywords inside Input TM field. This field also supports regular expressions (regex).
• Select source and target languages and click Search.

  

Export TM

Click next to a TM and select Export TM. Choose the file type and language pairs to export.

Clear TM

Clear TM deletes all TM terms in the database without removing the TM settings or its assignments. This is useful if you accidentally update TM matches with incorrect data.
