Learn how to easily export your translation Grid to your computer, then import it back to Gridly with all your updates in place.
Note: To use the Localization Export and Import feature, you’ll first need to set up localization columns and dependencies in your Grid.
Localization Export:
Gridly’s Localization Export feature supports exports in XLSX format. The exported Grid will contain at least 4 columns:
- Old source language
- Source language
- Target language(s)
- Target status (unset, up-to-date, out-of-date)
To configure the Localization Export settings:
- Open a Grid, then click
on the toolbar.
- Select Localization export from the dropdown list.
- In the Export Localization pop-up window, enter the following information:
- Source language: Select only one source language to export if you have multiple target languages.
- Select target language to export: Select the target language column to export, or click the check box to export all target languages.
- Other settings (optional): Customize your export files by checking the boxes.
- Highlight source changed: Check if you want to highlight the changes in the source language.
- Include up-to-date record: Check if you want to include records that are marked as updated with Dependencies.
- Export to the same sheet: Check if you want to export multiple target language columns to the same sheet, and uncheck if you want to keep them separate in different spreadsheets.
- Select other columns (optional): Click the checkbox before each column name to select the additional columns for export.
- Click Export.
Localization Import:
- Open a Grid, then click
on the toolbar.
- Select Localization import from the dropdown list.
- Drag and drop, or click to browse for your file.
Note: Gridly can only import XLSX files which have been previously exported by the Localization Export feature.
